Baker-Miller Pink

April 2020, and the U.K. is in lockdown. My back garden is 13 paces long, and I run its length for an hour every day. I order tomato seeds so I have something to look forward to. I take care of my children, alone. I worry about other women, trapped in situations where they’re not safe.

I look on the internet for pictures of a hospital near where I grew up: it was somewhere we were afraid of. I wonder why all the walls are the same colour, even in the men’s rooms. I learn about Baker-Miller pink: the only colour scientifically proven to calm you and suppress your appetite.

I make a series of daily lumen prints and share them on my Instagram - a friend comments that they bring her joy: I miss her.
